Factory test trailer

This trailer would have been one of a batch made for Land Rover to be loaded and towed by Engineering Fleet prototypes while carrying out testing both off-road and on the public highway. We understand that it was in use between 1978 and 2000.

This seemed to us to be an unusual piece of Land Rover history that could all too easily have been lost and having saved it for the Collection we were pleased to find stencilled under the paint the identity ‘Trailer Number 1’.

We can only speculate how many interesting Land Rover prototype and pre-production vehicles have towed this trailer over the years!
