Although the weather was rather wet, everyone enjoyed the tour, which had begun at the RAC’s Woodcote Park for breakfast before the group set out on a leisurely run to Dunsfold. Jan’s magnificent home-made sausage rolls and cakes were well-received, and then the sun came out!

As ever, we are grateful to our magnificent volunteers for their help today… Paul, Tim, Jan, John, and Josh.

Over 250 visitors arrived to glorious autumn weather. Over half of the vehicles on display have not been seen for quite a while, and we also had new displays including the ‘barn find’ Series I 80-inch OPB 922 discovered earlier this year on a farm in Hampshire, where it had been gathering dust for 40 years.

Glorious weather throughout, apart from a thunderstorm on Saturday afternoon. Good to catch up with Friends of the Collection and bump into a few ex-JLR people, catch up on the gossip, and welcome some new Friends. We are told that the event will be held around the same time next year, and we’ve already added it to our diaries.

Flying to Gatwick on Friday, the group jumped into their hire cars and arrived at Dunsfold mid-morning, spending several hours with us before heading off to the Brooklands Museum.
